Cabinet Members and Portfolio Holders
The Liberal Democrat, Labour and Independent Groups currently form a joint administration and the Liberal Democrats' Deputy Group Leader Councillor Anne Turrell is the Leader of the Council.
The executive functions of the Council are dealt with by the Cabinet. In practice many of the duties and powers of the Cabinet have been delegated to individual members of the Cabinet, (also known as Portfolio Holders) and to officers so that all day to day decision making is undertaken either by an officer or the relevant Portfolio Holder. At present there are eight members of the Cabinet from the Liberal Democrats, Labour and Independent groups, each with their own portfolio responsibilities.
