The Mayor of Colchester, Councillor Helen Chuah doffs her hat from the Town Hall balcony

Councillor Helen Chuah is Colchester's Mayor for 2011-2012

Helen came to Colchester from Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia in October 1971. After completing her training, Helen qualified as a nurse and worked full time while raising a family. Serving as a Councillor for St Anne's Ward since 1988, Helen joined Colchester Centurion Rotary Club about nine years ago to encourage international understanding, goodwill and peace throughout the world. The Mayor's theme for her Mayoral year is 'Working with the Community for the benefit of Colchester'.

 The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress are Councillor Christopher Arnold and Mrs Amanda Arnold.
