As part of the regeneration of North Colchester 3500 new jobs will be created in the area.

As a Strategic Employment Zone, the jobs in North Colchester will mainly be created by the development of sites for industry, warehousing and businesses.

The majority of these jobs will be created with the development of Council owned land at Cuckoo Farm which offers approximately 19.8ha for employment use.

Work to develop this area has already started with the completion of Easter Park  which opened in 2008. Built by London based developers Easter Group the development offers around 150,000 sq ft of high quality small to medium sized industrial units. As part of the £20 million project, the Easter Group also extended Axial Way and put in place the new road infrastructure that leads provides the access route for the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Further employment land at Cuckoo Farm is expected to be brought forward alongside the delivery of the new A12 junction and supporting infrastructure. .

North Colchester is already home to a large employment area with Severalls Park and Colchester Business Park offering industrial and office space.

The new North Colchester Business Incubation Centre at Colchester Business Park has also provided additional space and facilities for start-up and small businesses in the area.
