Beat the Street is here! Thousands of people across Colchester are running, walking and cycling across their city to earn points and win prizes for their school or workplace. Join in the game taking Colchester by storm by visiting one of our distribution centres to take part:

Colchester Parkrun

Weekly free 5km timed run. There are now 3 weekly Parkruns in the Colchester district.

 

The Colchester Orbital

Approximately 14-15 miles in length, the Colchester Orbital is a circular walk/cycle route around the periphery of the town, taking advantage of and connecting some of its loveliest green spaces and off-road pathway networks.

We have 6 outdoor gyms located in parks and open spaces around the borough, all with a great choice of equipment designed to keep you fit for free!

Physical inactivity is a major cause of disease and disability for adults in the UK. To help combat physical inactivity in adults, Public Health England are encouraging adults across England to incorporate more physical activity into their life by simply going for a brisk 10 minute burst of exercise every day, also known as an "Active 10".Download the free Active10 APP today.

There are fantastic opportunities for walking, wildlife, and wellbeing in the Borough.

Visit one of the 3 country parks, 11 nature reserves, 300 open spaces or 50 playgrounds on offer, including 2 skate parks.

A number of outdoor gyms also means you can use the gym and have a fantastic view.

With over 1100 plots in Colchester, an allotment will keep you active while you grow.
