Information for Licensees

Public Nuisance Control

The prevention of public nuisance is one of the four licensing objectives that must be considered in any application made under the Licensing Act 2003 and in the continued management of the premises.  Public nuisance includes matters such as noise, odour, general disturbance, litter, anti-social behaviour; light pollution and other matters than can affect occupiers near licensed premises.  The licensing authorities in Essex have produced a guide to assist you in both applying for a licence in the continued management of your premises in relation to  noise and public nuisance.
