What happens if my bin gets lost, stolen or damaged?

If you have hired a bin from Colchester Borough Council your business is responsible for replacing it if becomes lost or is stolen. We recommend that the wheeled bin you have hired from us is covered by your company's business insurance - it is your responsibility to ensure it is kept secure. If your bin has been damaged during the collection process, the crew will have reported it to the office at the end of the working day. We will contact you within 2 working days to advise when your bin will be replaced. If your bin is damaged in-between collections, please let us know as soon as possible and a replacement bin will be delivered as soon as possible, usually within seven days.
