Where can I use my Blue Badge?

I have a Blue Badge - where can I park?

  • Yellow Lines - Badge holders may park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, apart from where there are restrictions on loading and unloading indicated by yellow kerb dashes and accompanying signage. Badges must be displayed clearly with the clock set at your time of arrival. (Badge holders are not entitled to park on yellow lines in off-street car parks).
  • On-street parking meters and 'pay & display' machines - Badge holders may park for free and for as long as they need to. Badges must be displayed clearly with the clock set at your time of arrival.
  • On-street disabled parking bays (signs have a blue wheelchair symbol) - Badge holders may park for free and for as long as they need to unless signs say otherwise (check the signs for information). Badges must be displayed clearly with the clock set at your time of arrival.
  • Limited Waiting bays -Badge holders may park for free and for as long as they need to. Badges must be displayed clearly with the clock set at your time of arrival.


Where can I not park?

  • Places where a ban on loading or unloading is in force, shown by yellow kerb makings and accompanying signage.
  • Parking places reserved for specific users only such as loading bays.
  • Pedestrian crossings (zebra, pelican, toucan and puffin crossings) including areas marked by zig-zag lines.
  • Clearways, marked with 'no stopping' signs, including bus stop clearways during hours of operation.
  • Schools' 'keep clear' bays during hours marked.
  • Bus or cycle lanes.
  • Anywhere where there are double white lines in the middle of the road, even if one of the lines is broken.
  • Where temporary parking restrictions are in force.
